About Hopeless Foundation

Over 3 million dollars raised

The Hopeless Foundation is the umbrella organization for the charitable initiatives backed by Hopeless Records. We believe that artists and their fans are already changing the world - and that real impact happens when people take action together. Through artist and fan continued participation in initiatives like Songs That Saved My Life and the Hopeless In Action program, we demonstrate how collective effort can create meaningful change, regardless of age, race, socioeconomic status, gender identity, religion, physical ability, or any other factor.

Formerly known as Sub City, the Hopeless Foundation has raised over $3 million for charitable causes to date; and we’re just getting started. Our newest and proudest initiative is the Hopeless Music Academy: a state-of-the-art recording studio in North Hollywood, CA, designed to empower youth from under-resourced communities by providing education and pathways into creative and business careers within the music industry.

Songs That Saved My Life

Songs That Saved My Life is a project built around impactful music that has played an important role in the lives of both artists and fans, while supporting mental health and suicide prevention charities. Every music lover has a song that's helped them through a tough time, and this project shares those stories with the world. Via Songs That Saved My Life, artists record cover versions of the songs that have shaped them, with proceeds currently benefiting four charities: Crisis Text Line, Superbands, The Trevor Project, and To Write Love On Her Arms. Current benefiting charities are:

Crisis Text Line

SUPERBANDS

The Trevor Project

To Write Love On Her Arms

Hopeless Music Academy

Hopeless Music Academy is a no-cost music program partnering with select youth orgs across the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California.

We bring real industry access, mentorship, and hands-on creation to youth from under-resourced neighbourhoods—to amazing young people who would otherwise not have the chance to step inside the spaces we work in every day.

HMA is run by volunteers, interns, musicians, and educators who believe that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. We exist to close that gap. We invite you to positively impact communities forever, by following us on socials, volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word. We are honoured and excited to help positively shape the future of the music industry, from right here in our local, vibrant backyard.

Hopeless In Action

Fans are given the option to round up their purchases at checkout on the Hopeless web store to support the chosen cause. Past Causes include Homeboy Industries, RAINN, and Brady’s Center To Prevent Gun Violence. Hopeless is proud to incorporate our Sub City charity initiatives in every foreseeable opportunity.
